International Conference on Geometric Algorithms
and Methods for Plasma Physics
May 13-15, 2014, Hefei, China
In plasma physics community, there has been a sudden burst of activity and interest in the last few years in the area of geometric algorithms for simulation studies. This is due to the fact that the long-term accuracy and fidelity rendered by the geometric algorithms fit exactly the need of modern large-scale computer simulations of the multi-scale, complex dynamics of both laboratory fusion plasmas and astrophysical plasmas. The purpose of the conference is to review the state of art of this exciting, new direction of research, and foresee its future development.
